One of the most prolific Punjabi music lyricists of his generation, Harbans Singh Jandu, known universally as Jandu Littranwala, is the man who has penned evergreen classic Punjabi songs such as ‘Giddhian Di Raniye’ for AS Kang, ‘Chan Mere Makhna’ for Balwinder Safri, ‘Soorma’ for Jazzy B and ‘Sadke Java’ for H Dhami. With a career spanning over 45 years, Jandu, who hails from the village of Littran in the Jalandhar district of Punjab, India, has picked up a host of awards for his services to Punjabi folk music and writing including the House of Commons Award at the Vaisakhi Celebration & Panjabi Cultural Awards Ceremony, an award from current Chief Minister of Punjab Mr Prakash Singh Badal in 2009 for his contribution in promoting the Punjabi language worldwide and BritAsia 2011’s ‘Best Song Writer’.
